in our lifetime vol.3 - the revenge of boston continues the acclaimed compilation series from Fenway Recordings. A reflection of the intense musical environment in Boston at the moment, the lineup for this comp includes many familiar names. These include Cave In, Mission of Burma, Dropkick Murphys with Dicky Barrett, Piebald, Papas Fritas, The Sheila Divine, Chad Stokes Urmston from Dispatch, and the first ever recorded output from the notorious Kaiju Big Battel. All performances are previously unreleased in North America. The compilation contains two different WBCN Rumble winners including 2002 champions The Gentlemen. The 21 track disc includes three live recordings including Mission of Burma from the Paradise in January 2002 and Dropkick Murphys with Dicky Barrett from the notorious St. Patrick’s Day Weekend 2002 shows at the Avalon Ballroom. Destined to document a place and a time, the revenge of boston cuts across many styles. These range from the a capella poetry of Insight, to the haunting Blake Hazard, to the thunder of ex-Cars Greg Hawkes’ Fierce Tibetan Gods, to a new anthem from The Kickovers, to the bold acoustic Papas Fritas track, their recording swan song. All in all, a powerful reflection of a shockingly prolific time in a great music city.
