MGMT featured on forthcoming Fleetwood Mac tribute album

MGMT have recently contributed a cover of "Future Games" to the forthcoming Fleetwood Mac tribute album.  They have taken the original 8-minute 21-second song, written by the late Bob Welch, and have developed their own interpretation, resulting in a 9-minute 11-second track. The album, titled ‘Just Tell Me That You Want Me’, will be released on August 13 in the UK and August 14 in the US via Concord Music Group, featuring MGMT's cover as well as contributions from Best Coast, Lykke Li, Lee Ranaldo, The Kills, and more. MGMT and ††† Perform South American Shows, Including Lolla Chile and Quilmes Rock in Buenos Aires

MGMT and ††† performed at this year's Lollapalooza Chile and Quilmes Rock in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  These shows marked only the 6th and 7th live shows for ††† ever, and the band's first outside of the US.  MGMT also played the Estereo Picnic festival in Bogota, Columbia and are currently playing shows in Mexico and will play Indie Fest in Puerto Rico before wrapping up their first shows of 2012. MGMT Announce Shows in South America for 2012

MGMT to perform at the Guggenheim November 11th

MGMT will be performing a one of a kind, site-specific musical piece at the Guggenheim Museum as part of the opening of the Maurizio Cattelan exhibit and retrospective which begins November 3. MGMT will be performing at the Private Gala Opening Benefit After-Party at the Museum on November 10 and will be performing at the public opening party also at the museum on November 11. MGMT's "Late Night Tales" Out Today

Coming off a stellar performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last week, MGMT have released a new compilation "Late Night Tales". The latest installment of the "Late Night" series features handpicked songs from MGMT that serve as some of the bands favorite tracks and inspiration. The compilation also features a Bauhaus cover song performed by the band titled "All We Every Wanted Was Everything". You can buy the compilation via iTunes HERE or Amazon HERE.

MGMT’s installment of the Late Night Tales Series Out October 4th!

October 4th marks the release of the 25th edition of the Late Night Tales series, curated by MGMT. Featuring a selection of tracks chosen by the band, including songs by The Velvet Underground, Disco Inferno, and The Chills, BBC describes the album as “a very brilliant package.” The album also features MGMT’s cover of Bauhaus’s “All We Ever Wanted Was Everything.” Late Night Tales is available for pre order on iTunes and Amazon.

MGMT Curate LateNightTales Compilation

MGMT has teamed up with LateNightTales to create a compilation of music featuring tracks from artists such as the Velvet Underground, Felt, Suicide, Spacemen 3, and Disco Inferno. The compilation, which will be released on October 3,  also features an exclusive MGMT track: The band's cover of the Bauhaus song  "All We Ever Wanted Was Everything." Free MGMT, Mission of Burma, and Static Jacks' Concerts this Weekend!

Don't forget to check out FREE concerts by MGMT, Mission of Burma, and The Static Jacks this weekend as Fenway goes coast-to-coast! First, MGMT takes the stage by the ocean at the 2011 Nike US Open of Surfing at Huntington Beach, CA on Saturday, August 6th. The concert is part of Nike’s self-proclaimed “Surfing Music Lineup,” including artists Jimmy Eat World, Surfer Blood, The Sounds, and Dead Country with MGMT headlining. MGMT will play at 4:30 pm at the conclusion of the day’s surfing competition. The concert is free and open to the general public. More information can be found at Nike’s official site.

3,000 miles away, Mission of Burma is slated to appear Sunday, August 7th at 3:00 pm at the Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club along the East River in lower Manhattan. Presented in association with the Seaport Music Festival on Pier 17 and the RiverRocks Series on Pier 54, the free concert and will take place on Beekman’s 200-ton sandy beach overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge. The show is limited to 1,100 people so get there early when doors open at 11:30 am. The beach is limited to audience members 21+ only and further details can be found here.

Finally, rounding out the weekend, The Static Jacks will play a free show at The Echo Club on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles on Monday, August 8th. The show starts at 8:30 pm and features performances from Active Child, Touche, and Sleeping Bags. Open only to those 21+, check out the official site for full show information.
